My little girls keep me busy, but I always find time to sneak away to the craft room. I am dabbling in many mediums to find my true calling (but I have an inkling it will always involve fabric)...

Still Busy Busy Busy!

It was a long tiring weekend, and now I have a long tiring week ahead of me. Friday was so much fun, my art league set up a little booth at the Relay For Life fair and we did some face painting. We were there for about three hours and time just flew right by I was having so much fun. I hope I get a chance to do it every year! The kids were great, I only got one squirmy little one but we were still giggling together! he he Time went by so fast, I only snapped a couple pics, and I forgot to ask someone to take a pic of me! Oh well… Here’s a few:

It was so beautiful there at night, the track was surrounded by luminaries, each one dedicated to individuals who have past away from cancer. People walked allll night long. In the photo below, you can see a light stick someone was holding as they walked by, but the person was too dark for the camera to capture!

Saturday and Sunday I spent helping out my parents. They finally closed on their new home, so now they’re rushing to get some things fixed up in the home and packing up all their stuff. We were able to get a lot packed up, the carpets pulled, and the hidden wood floors sanded down and painted! Whew, we worked fast and hard all weekend, needless to say I’m pooped and my knees hurt! lol Their house is so cute, I’m in love with it! I’m so excited to help unpack and decorate!

Their moving in on Saturday, so I promised my dad I’d sneak over there this week to get their bedroom painted. Plus I have to help my mother finish packing up… then I can’t forget the large wholesale order I need to finish before the end of the month! Soooo I’ll be busy busy busy!! (As usual! lol)

Face Painting!

Well, I didn’t get to work on my painting this Tuesday again… but it was for a good cause! My art league buddies and I practiced some face painting so that we can do it at the Relay For Life fair this Friday. It was so much fun! I brought my daughter along so that we can practice on her as well. We are no where near as good as most face painters out there, but oh well. It takes a lot of practice I guess, it was hard to get straight clean lines when the face keeps moving around on you! lol But I’m sure it will still make the kids happy. :) Here’s some photos of what we practiced… hopefully we’ll quickly get better as we do it more on Friday! he he

My mother-in-law got a little carried away with her arm! he he I thought it looked pretty cool though. :) I can’t wait until Friday now! I hope it goes well…

A Successful Tuesday

Last night went pretty well at my art league meeting… I actually got some painting done! It was pretty quiet in the room, I think we all were concentrating very hard for once! Not sure if this is finished or not yet, but I like it! I may have to work more on his body; I couldn’t imagine what a real skeleton looked like! lol But I do like him without arms and jaw. Sorry, the photo has a bit of glare.

Today, I had some time to update Rags-n-Tags. I’ve added quite a few more supplies to the supplies section, as well as some Easter goodies on my Originals and Made To Order pages. I’m in a Spring mood, I just can’t wait for the warm air to blow in, and the flowers to start blooming!

Tree Art

I almost regret already commiting to this Inspiration Friday thing. Hush now; sorry! lol I’m still learning the ropes of this blogging thing, and I’m still a bit confused as to what I’m doing here. Anyway, what I’ve really been searching for on the net lately is a tv bench. My hubby out of the blue decided to buy our first flat screen tv! WooHoo! But, that means spending more money to get another stand to put it on. The one we have now is a hutch with doors; and will definately not hold the larger flat screen. I found some really nice ones on the net. Crossing my fingers that we can splurge some more to get the one I really want! ;0) I’ll share some pics once we have it set up. I can’t wait!!!

So anyway, instead of boring you with my tv stand choices, I decided to browse through my etsy favorites. I found that there was a theme going with a lot of the “fine art” favs I’ve been saving. Trees! I knew I had a thing for trees… I even went out and got a tatoo of one last summer! (I’ll save that photo for another day.) But I didn’t realize that I had a collection of tree art favs! lol Anywho, enough with the babbling, and more with the showing…

I have had this shop as an etsy fav for a while now. I just love the style of it. I am amazed that anyone can draw such detailed work straight from their imagination. I was surprised to see that it was actually a woman who does the art. For some reason, I assumed it was a man. Why is that?
