My little girls keep me busy, but I always find time to sneak away to the craft room. I am dabbling in many mediums to find my true calling (but I have an inkling it will always involve fabric)...

It's Finally DONE!

I’ve been ripping and sewing for days now to finish up my raggedy table skirts, and they’re finally done!!! I had no idea it would take me so long. I am so happy with the results though. I hung my two craft room skirts, and they look great! They make me smile every time I enter the room. I am sooo happy I took the time to do this. My craft fair booths are going to look amazing with them!

I know I promised a photo; but between rearranging my room and getting ready for my upcoming shows, my craft room is a disaster! lol So, here’s a sneak peak so you can get an idea of what they look like.

My first Spring show is this Sunday, so I’ll be busy for the rest of this week finishing up a bunch of details for the show. Once my shows are over with I can finally finish organizing my room and share some after pics. :) If you’re in the area, my show this Sunday is at Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, Ct. I’m so excited, this will be my very first outdoor show! AND my very first show where I had more than one table! lol Which is why I’ve invited my two friends to come help me. ;0) See you after my show!

OH PS, I’m sure you’ve noticed my topper has changed yet again. Still working on it! lol

Been Ripping Away!

I had this crazy idea to rip a bunch of fabric into strips, then connect them to create a table skirt. I dunno, I’ve just been in a ripped, ragged, raw fabric mode lately. So, what did I do all day? Ripped Six hundred seventy three strips of fabric. Man do my fingers hurt. lol

I did some calculations, and I actually had to rip some more after that! lol I was able to finish up one skirt for my craft room (I’ll be making two more for my craft shows). I just wish I could have gathered them up closer together than I did; but if I did that, I would have needed double the fabric! lol Once I figure out how I’ll be attaching my craft room skirt, I’ll post a pic. :)

Starting the Transformation

Transformation is under way!  But for some reason I decided to start at like midnight the other day moving around furniture in my craft room. lol Boy was I tired the next morning. It turned out to be a bit of a larger project than I had thought! But, I am so happy with the way its turning out. I’m actually going to have some blank wall space! Wow!! I set up my new Ikea shelf, and it looks great. Now to clean up and start organizing some more!

Here’s some photos I took at 1am of the big mess I was making! (I swear, I was having withdrawals having the computer unplugged for so long! lol)

(You can see my before pics HERE.)

PS, My new EZup tent came in the mail!! I had hubby help me set it up the back yard so I can get a look at it. Yay, I’m so happy to finally have one! :)

Been Swamped!

Well, I’m sure you saw it coming after my last post! lol I’ve been mia past few weeks. I’ve been up to my ears in work, plus I started re-arranging my craft room. Why on earth do I take on large projects when I’m already busy? I do not know… I guess I just work better under pressure. I finished up my two large wholesale orders in time, made a couple purses and charm bracelets for the craft show, and started working on more JuNk pins and bottle caps. I tore down my old peg board with shelves, and built a new larger one for my corner. It’s almost finished. I’ll have pics up soon! First I want to put together my ikea shelf that’s been sitting there for weeks.

Anywho, I’m getting really excited for next month’s shows. I’ve been researching craft displays and looking for a new tent. But I still have tons more crafting to do! Be back soon! ;)

Dreaming of a beautiful craft room...

Somehow I got sucked into the internet a few nights ago looking through photos of beautiful craft rooms…. I mean SUCKED INTO! lol For like hours on end.

Sure… I know I’m lucky that I even have a room to call my own.  But its so ugly, messy, and uninspiring in here! lol I do have a beautiful blue on the walls though… anywho; my goal is to save up some money and make this room beautiful. :0) It’s pretty functional already, just not so pleasing to the eye. Here are some photos of my room now:

The door on the left is the door I enter from – it connects to my husband’s recording studio. I have a little corner there to work with, but it does have a pole in the way! The door on the right is the door to our laundry room – and the beer fridge – so you can only imagine the traffic through this area during band practice nights! LOL

Then this is my hideous packing station and stock. My station is the perfect size… I just wish now that I kept the doors on! I hope to one day get a prettier cabinet to use. This will work for now I guess! ;0) The metal shelf I  have hiding in the corner holds miscellaneous stuff… I’m working on finding cute bins to use so it looks more organized. The peg board shelf on the right is just an eye sore… sure its great for holding all the goodies I sell… but yuck! I hate seeing it when I come through the door. Plus, all the weight is pulling on the peg board significantly. I’m working on getting rid of this all together. Hopefully between my metal shelf and the small peg board in the previous photo I can store my goodies.

Over to the right is my computer station…. more yuck! lol I wish I had a white computer for starts. I definitely need to do some organizing of all the paperwork! (and get a prettier seat cushion! lol)

craftroom3

The desk extends to my crafting area. Lots of space to work with – if only I could keep it clean! I need a desk curtain to hide the stuff underneath. Haven’t found the perfect fabric or the time yet. ;0) To the right I have a skinny shelf holding most of my fabric. To the right of that is an opening in the wall that goes under the cellar stairs for storage – which needs a curtain also to hide!

So, I do have the space to work with – just not the organization or decorative skills! My first thought was to get pretty knobs… I found some cute pink ones online and just got them in the mail yesterday. Aren’t they cute!? Only one problem… I forgot to count the knobs on my drawers for the packing station! So those are still ugly. :(

Next on my list… to get rid of everything I don’t currently use. Then, to get some bins to fit on the smaller peg board in the corner so that I can move my stock there and get rid of the big ugly one. Once I get the money, I found a really neat shelf from IKEA that I would like to get. I can fit it in place of the large peg shelf if I move my computer desk to the other side of the room. Yayyyy I’m getting so excited, I can’t wait till everything is finished! I’m sure it will take some time though. :(

Here’s some photos I found on Flicker… So sorry, I forgot to save the links to them!
